Self-catering chalet at Passaddhi

There is a new chalet on site (called kuti in the Buddhist tradition of Thailand and Burma, meaning meditation hut), which can be used for personal retreats or as a base for a quiet holiday (there is a minimum stay of 2 nights). The chalet is available outside organised retreat times. Click here to see the retreat programme.

Passaddhi is nestled on a hillside between Hungry Hill and Sugarloaf Mountain and the countryside here is extremely conducive to a silent retreat or for exploring the area. There is an extensive network of walks in the area, and Passaddhi is close to the Beara Way, a long-distance sign-posted walking route.
Fuchsia hedges surround the property, which overlooks Bantry Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

The chalet is self-catering with kitchenette and bathroom, and is best suited for one person. If you don’t have your own transport Marjo could do a shop for you, for a donation towards time and petrol.
Marjo might be able to offer guidance and support if you don’t have an established meditation practice yet and would like to start one. Or you can join Marjo in a daily meditation session (by prior arrangement only).

Like the retreats at Passaddhi, the chalet is offered on a donation basis, with a guideline of an amount per night in accordance with the price of a local B&B.

All are welcome to enjoy this beautiful space and landscape that nourishes the spirit and quietens the heart and mind.
